Covid-19 impact on F2F methodologies
May 18, 2020

We wanted to share with you the results of the survey we conducted with around 400 HCPs to analyse the impact of COVID-19 on F2F methodologies currently and in the future months. Here you have the results report attached, which includes quite a lot of detail. The situation is quite complex and uncertain.

The key findings are:

  • Spain has started to ease the lockdown, but there are still many travel and meeting restrictions in Barcelona and Madrid.
  • The survey’s results indicate that we need to go step by step, as many of our collaborators state that we need to be cautious and minimise risky activities as much as possible. As you’ll see in the report, we’ve identified 3 different HCP profiles to better understand the complex reality and their different views.
  • As of now, digital platforms are working very well, and we are conducting many virtual CL days successfully. HCPs are quite happy and see many advantages with the change. In fact, in case F2F studies are proposed, they demand a justification of the added value of meeting face-to-face, because it is considered as an unnecessary risk currently.

In any case, we understand that this survey is just a photo within the movie we are watching, the COVID-19 movie. Therefore, we will need to keep listening to our collaborators to understand how the situation evolves in Spain and how best we can adapt our studies.
